At 8126m, Pakistan’s Nanga Parbat ‘only’ places at number 9 in the world’s highest mountains (pah, I mean seriously…?!).
With a far broader base than many of the other top 10, it’s a monster climbing endeavour, rarely attempted in winter months. No reason not to enjoy a sunrise from Fairy Meadows camp however. ❤️🗻🇵🇰
(The more geographically astute may have spotted that I must have veered a fair distance off course to be sat in the shadow of Nanga Parbat. 10/10 to you.
I always planned to take a small side-trip from the rail journey to fullfill a lifelong dream to visit the Karakoram Mtns. It was simply too tempting a opportunity to pass on. So I sneakily built in 6 days exploring the peaks and valleys of Gilgit, Hunza and Scardu).
